Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2025 Case Study

03.03.2026

Empowering Women, Building Homes in Gypsum

In October 2025, Lifetime Home Remodeling team members joined Habitat for
Humanity Vail Valley’s annual Women Build event at the Stratton Flats development in
Gypsum, Colorado. Over two days, nearly 60 women volunteers, including our own
staff, worked together to frame, assemble, and finish eight new affordable homes for
local families. Lifetime donated high-quality bathroom materials to the project and also
provided dozens of volunteer hours on site. Our team tackled everything from cutting
lumber and hanging drywall to installing doors and cleaning up, helping the Habitat
team keep construction moving smoothly.

Expertise Delivered

Lifetime brought hands-on expertise and key resources to this community project. Our
team of volunteers worked alongside Habitat’s construction crew and future
homeowners, sharing advice and stories. We helped measure, cut, and install lumber;
hung drywall and painted; and handled final cleanup. Not only that, Lifetime donated
bathroom vanities, fixtures and other materials. These donations and contributions are
vital to Habitat’s model. “With support from Lifetime Home Remodeling and its roofing
partner GAF, the team helped build more than houses,” said Habitat’s construction
manager Kelsie McKenna.

Challenge & Solution

Eagle County’s rapid growth and high cost of living have created a serious housing
shortage for essential workers. Many teachers, healthcare workers and first responders
simply can’t afford homes near their jobs, so affordable local housing is a necessity.
Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley tackles this challenge by leveraging volunteer labor and
donated materials to slash construction costs. So, every dollar donated, in product or in
time, directly reduces the buyer’s mortgage payment.

What Made This Experience Remarkable

For everyone involved, this project was about more than just building houses – it was
about building community. Lifetimes’ team saw Habitat homeowners working alongside
volunteers, learning to swing hammers and use tools. We saw women gain confidence
on ladders and nail guns, we witnessed them come into their power with every swing.
And of course, eight families will soon own a durable, beautiful home they helped
create.

This case was special for us because it aligned perfectly with our brand values: service,
quality, and teamwork. We didn’t just put up walls, we helped build connections. “It was
so great to see women who are going to have an opportunity to live in one of these
houses involved and helping their neighbors build their homes too,” Coco Criste,
Director of Community Engagement at Lifetime said. “At Lifetime, we believe in building
more than homes, we’re building better communities. Habitat’s mission aligns perfectly
with our work and values, and the Women Build is a great way to show that when
women come together, we create lasting change.”
